How I Work: A Collaborative Approach
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
We will work together to identify the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that have sustained you, as well as on changing those that no longer serve you. Our sessions will include support, active problem-solving, strategies to modify any unhelpful thinking, and the development of effective coping strategies to improve your well-being and relationships.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Management
By grounding our work in mindfulness, I will help you develop a greater awareness of the present moment, allowing you to better manage emotional or physical pain, anxiety and stress - so that you can experience a sense of calm and clarity as you cope with the challenges in your life.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Focusing on what matters most to you and choosing a therapy direction that is consistent with your values will be an integral part of our work together. Use of the ACT approach - including mindfulness practice, learning to accept thoughts and feelings rather than struggling against them, and taking thoughtful action that fits with your values – will support you in moving forward in your life.
Why I Do This Work
Throughout my professional career, I have been passionate about providing a strengths-based approach to therapy so that you feel seen, heard, and empowered to make positive changes that improve the quality of your life.
